Ukami
A fusion restaurant where Japanese techniques, Mexican flavors, and fresh seafood create a playful encounter between two culinary cultures.
Ukami starts from an idea that seems especially natural in Tulum: to allow two kitchens separated by the Pacific to share the same table. Japan brings technique, precision and respect for the product; Mexico responds with intensity, its own ingredients and a completely different way of building flavor.
Sushi, fish and seafood are part of a proposal where Japanese references can meet Mexican elements without turning the experience into a simple collection of mixes. The intention is to seek meeting points and let both identities remain recognizable.
Its location in the Tulum Beach area accompanies that philosophy with a tropical and relaxed atmosphere. It is a Japanese cuisine less ceremonial, suitable for sharing dishes and discovering combinations while the night begins to move around the coast.
Japan and Mexico have oceans, chiles, fish and culinary traditions deeply their own. Ukami takes advantage of the distance between them to do exactly the opposite: bring them closer. Because some borders work much better when they end up on a plate.
