Mixik

A colorful boutique where crafts, folk art, and objects created in Mexico bring together stories, techniques, and traditions from different corners of the country.

Entering Mixik means encountering a considerably more colorful version of Mexico. The store brings together crafts, textiles, accessories, decoration, and different objects selected from expressions traditional and popular in the country. Each piece introduces materials, symbols, and techniques capable of telling something about the hands and the places that exist behind it. The selection allows moving from small decorative details to objects with a much greater presence, always maintaining a clearly Mexican identity. In a destination where many stores share a carefully neutral aesthetic, Mixik takes almost the opposite direction. Here colors, figures, and cultural references appear that recall the enormous creative diversity of Mexico beyond the beaches of Tulum. A good memory should do more than prove that we were in a place. It should make it so that, when we find it years later on a table or a wall, we remember for a moment how it felt to be there. Mixik is full of small candidates to achieve it.
