Kaawa

Cafe Kaawa is not simply a café. Since 2007 it has worked around roasting and selecting Mexican coffee, building relationships with producers and seeking that each origin preserves its own identity. Its bar allows discovering coffees from Chiapas, Veracruz, Oaxaca, Nayarit and Guerrero through espresso, pour-overs, and different extraction methods. Part of the appeal lies precisely in being able to understand how a cup changes according to origin, process, and preparation. The coffee is roasted directly in-house, reducing the distance between the bean and the cup. Alongside the bar you can find breakfasts, bakery and desserts, in addition to the possibility of buying freshly roasted coffee to take away. Kaawa represents a part of Playa that rarely appears in traditional guides: a coffee culture built from Mexican produce and the knowledge behind each preparation.
